The Origami King isn’t the first Paper Mario game to be leaked to fans before its release. In 2016, Paper Mario: Color Splash was accidentally made available two weeks early on the Wii U eShop. While this leak isn’t as early as that one, there are still many spoilers coming out that may hinder gamers’ abilities to play it blind.

There is less than a week to go before players can officially get Paper Mario: The Origami King, and while fans may want to wait until the game’s release to see more of the game for themselves, the spoilers online are growing as more and more is discovered. A well known Nintendo dataminer took to Twitter to bring fans’ attention to the leak, and new information continues to surface surrounding the latest installment of the Paper Mario franchise.
Text and concept art from a museum in the game are currently being spread around the internet. Not only that — these dataminers have discovered the final boss, the last dungeon, and other late-game content, and these details can be easily stumbled upon on social media. Some streamers on popular platform sites like Twitch have gotten their hands on these leaked copies of the game and are playing them for live audiences.
At this rate, playthroughs may also make their way to YouTube before the game’s release. If players want to keep themselves spoiler-free until the game’s official release, they may have to block the title of the game from their social media accounts. Nintendo has not commented on the Paper Mario game’s leak.
While the full Paper Mario game may make it hard for fans to avoid spoilers until the game’s release, there are so many smaller reveals that Nintendo has shown off about the game that players are looking forward to experiencing themselves. With many unique bosses coming to Paper Mario, fans will have much to be excited about.
Paper Mario: The Origami King releases July 17, 2020, for Nintendo Switch.
