Clarke had to leave the triangular series, also involving South Africa, in Zimbabwe after he pulled his hamstring during the historic defeat against the host nation on Sunday.
After returning home, Clarke underwent scans in Sydney but physiotherapist Alex Kountouris was unable to give a prognosis on Wednesday.
“Michael Clarke had an MRI scan on returning from Zimbabwe that has confirmed a left hamstring muscle injury,” Kountouris was quoted as saying by The Age.
“He will have intensive rehabilitation for this injury and we will be monitoring his progress over the next week before deciding when he can return to training and playing,” he added.
